Supporting Musqueam Legacy Project at Magee Secondary School

In continuing to connect with our community and history, Wanson Group is honoured to support the Magee Secondary School’s Musqueam Legacy Project — in the production of the documentary film “In-Honour – Musqueam Carving and Culture” in recognition of the Musqueam land and culture.

Last month, ahead of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation — we had the opportunity to join the screening of the film as a Gold Community Partner.

Paying tribute to the Musqueam Nation and the land where the City of Vancouver is built upon, the film will accompany the 2019 Graduation Legacy Gift to Magee school — “Coast Salish Salmon Spindle Whorl” carved by Musqueam artists, Chrystal and Chris Sparrow.

The film will be installed as an interactive QR Code beside the artwork, serving as an educational resource and the first ‘living legacy’ of Indigenous artwork in the Vancouver School District.

We’re grateful to have the opportunity in bringing awareness to Indigenous Land Recognition and Reconciliation, through supporting innovative initiatives while honouring our commitment of “giving back to the community”.
